Beanies

This post on wgsn caught my eye and I like the idea of using an oversized beanie with the intention of using it as a crown. Even if we add things to it such as embellishments and even some tulle or finer

ways we can incorporate narnia

Throughout the movie there are things that I picked up on that we could use in the styling of our shoot to relate to Narnia. Such as:

The red scarf on Mr Tumnus - perfect as an A/W accessory

Striking headpiece featured here as a crown

This scene inspired me for compositions and poses for photographs - we could have the band peeking through a door like they would be looking through 'the wardrobe'

The fur coats - again a great clothing item for our A/W brief

Just from what I've been told about the movie and images I have seen, our first initial idea we thought of was using the girl from our band which is the leader, and using her as the new 'white witch' we could use lots of furs and maybe the use of a head piece as a crown. The fur is perfect as this is something to promote the autumn winter season which we are styling for. This idea can be broadened as we play on the idea of the white witch and really play around with the styling. This will give dominance to the girl which is usually what is done when there is only one girl in the band.

IDEAS:
- for editorial could use various head pieces as crowns
- use of all white which is a trend and symbolises the ice and the iconic status of the white witch
- maybe play on the idea of good and bad as this was a theme in the movie
- the men behind her which is the rest of the band could be dressed uniformly to look like her workers or minions; again this pushes dominance towards her

First group meeting

Our initial group meeting in class established main ideas to kick off our research such as the bands we all like and what ideas we had already come up with. As a group we decided to use the modern myth of Narnia; which was the myth Angie and Amie used in their first assessment. We decided it would be more interesting to explore and could give us various angles to go from. We all liked the idea of having a group of four people for our band and for the members to be three boys and a girl. We all enjoyed the band No Doubt when we were younger and they had this dynamic which we all liked. From here we are going to look at how we can incorporate Narnia into our styling and how to conceptualise it and more in depth research for the band. First start for me will be watching the movie as I have never seen it before.
